At Fenton Physical Therapy, Linden Physical Therapy and Milford Physical Therapy, our focus is on training your body to work better---not just look better.  We start with an evaluation of your present fitness level and design a program based on your needs.  Your custom program will develop the strength, flexibility, balance, agility and power necessary for daily activities or sports. 

In life, our bodies move in all directions, under unstable circumstances, and in an upright, standing position.  Today, most people exercise on machines that work in only one plane of motion in very stable, non-functional positions.  This works at developing muscles that look good in the mirror, but produces no gains in physical function. 

We design programs that integrate training in all planes of motion, under unstable conditions.  This develops strength and balance you can use in real life situations.  This approach requires precise one-on-one instruction, but once the skills are mastered, no ongoing oversight is necessary, and you can train independently.  Equipment needs are basic and focus around simple tools such as dumbbells, stability balls, medicine balls, and balance boards.  The training will provide you with an understanding of how your body works, and what it requires for proper maintenance. 

Whether you are an athlete striving for better performance or a senior citizen undergoing rehabilitation for an injury, the best and most efficient results are achieved by developing functional fitness.
