Fenton Physical Therapy was
founded in 1989 by Michael O'Hara, P.T.,
O.C.S., C.S.C.S.. His goal was to
provide patients a convenient, community
based site with care provided by highly
trained therapists. In 1993, the
clinic moved to its present site at 400
Rounds Drive. In 2003, a decision
was made to expand services to the
Linden area. Rodger Evans, MPT,
became the director at this
office. Later, in 2005, Milford
Physical Therapy was opened under the
direction of Susan Fisher, MPT.
Our licensed therapists have advanced
training in orthopedics, manual therapy,
spinal care, sports therapy, industrial
rehabilitation, TMJ dysfunction, fitness
evaluation and exercise. In recent
years, we have added Pilates,
sports conditioning
and personal fitness
programs to the services we
provide.
Every patient that comes to one of
our facilities is evaluated on his or her
initial visit. The therapist
then designs and implements a
comprehensive therapeutic program.
The patient is made an active
participant in his or her
rehabilitation. We believe patient
education is essential if patients are
to make lasting changes in functional
status and quality of life. We
create an environment in which the
patient can succeed and be encouraged by
his or her progress. Patients are
frequently re-evaluated and crucial
objective parameters are tested and
documented. Treatment is modified
based on the results of testing to
assure movement toward set goals.
The physician is kept aware of the
patient's progress with concise and
informative summaries.
Emphasis is also placed on home
exercise programs which ensure that the
patient remains an active participant in
his or her therapy program. We
provide instruction on home exercise
and avoidance of the activities that may
cause a recurrence of symptoms.
Success in home exercises results in
continued progress toward restored
function, improved fitness levels, and
fewer episodes of future symptom
recurrent.
A physical therapist may perform an
evaluation of a patient's
condition. However, a referral
from a physician, podiatrist or dentist
is necessary for treatment to
begin.
